I received my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1999. I completed my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Maryland, College Park, under the supervision of Professor Anthony Ephremides, in 2002 and 2007 respectively. In September 2007, I joined the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at Universitat Pompeu Fabra as a visiting professor. My research is in the general areas of communication networks, and information theory, with an emphasis on medium access control protocols for wireless sensor networks, as well as cross-layer optimization for applications with hard delay constraints.
